Pretext
Jon is the CEO of Mesentech (since 2018), a bio-tech company based in Vancouver. He has lived in several countries and speaks several languages, and since 2017 has been at Space... 'It’s my studio, I look forward to coming here every day'. We had a chat. It was full of anecdotes, stories, and... inspiring.

So, Space isn't a corner office in a downtown high-rise, or a lab, why work here?
So much happens at Space that is not like an office. I can bring my kids, or show up later in the evening for the atmosphere.
I became friends with Agro Roasters. They taught me how to roast my own coffee beans at home in my toaster-oven. I bring my car to Reza at ICY COOL AUTO (the mechanic next door).

You are passionate about teaching/explaining things... for example?
I am fascinated by how things work. I love de-mystifying nature, especially to kids.

Eyelet, viewing a rocket
You have collaborated with a few people at Space on various projects... like what?
I am working with Pat on a modular/adaptive child’s bed that fits in a small space and you can change it for a baby, toddler, and growing child, without having to buy and get rid of different beds.
I met Daniel at Space and we have been working together on the Mesentech website, scientific graphics, and presentations.

When we talked on the phone you were listening to music. Song of the moment?
