What is the idea of Space?
Space reflects the people and activities in Space on any given day or period. Essentially, Space is a community based modular co-working space designed to accommodate the needs of individual artists, groups, special projects and events.
What are the benefits of being a member?
A member at Space is more than just a desk and workspace. You are invited to participate in whatever is happening at the time, and have a say in how Space works.
We have a monthly meeting in which members are invited to discuss what's on their mind and make suggestions, ask for help, propose projects or events, network, ask for leads, etc...
We support each other at Space and through our online network. Need something? Can't find it? Chances are someone at Space can help out.
How is Space different from a co-working environment?
We are a creative community and network that encourages participation, sharing, support, and the opportunity to be a part of and contribute to diverse projects.
Meet the people that are currently at, or have passed through Space, and the events we've participated in and hosted, to get a feel for what we are about and who we are.
How does Space work day-to-day?
Members come in and out throughout the day, working alone, collaborating in groups, having meetings, and so on. The evenings and weekends are typically a relaxed atmosphere, but there are night owls too. Events, and preparation for events are usually a bit busier.
Space is essentially a creative co-working environment, but there are some professionals running their businesses here, too.
What type of events are/can be hosted at Space?
We support creative communities and socially minded organizations, and encourage members to create and host events. Yoga, art classes, perfunctory and spontaneous collaborations, music video/photo shoots, community events… etc. See our past events.
What is shared at Space?
In Space we have desks, benches, chairs, sofas, meeting tables, etc... The modular environment is sometimes zoned (we call these zones) for special use. Members can reserve them, per se, for a client meeting, viewing, business lunch, magic show...etc
Ongoing, we forage materials that can be used/transformed. We have a growing collection of basic tools for shared use. Also we have a kitchen facility, a loo, and a café next door.
Parking, bike storage, toilet paper, extension cord, record player, ice cubes, tape, high-speed internet, a spoon?
Yeah
